Sister Ayesha Jabeen,31 years old is suffering from Budd Chiari Syndrome, CLD, and Iron deficiency for the last 13 years. The Budd-Chiari syndrome is a condition in which the hepatic veins (veins that drain the liver) are blocked or narrowed by a clot (mass of blood cells). This blockage causes blood to back up into the liver, and as a result, the liver grows larger. She needed the liver transplant and she underwent deceased donor liver transplantation on May 18, 2022, at continental hospital Hyderabad. The cost of liver transplantation was Rs30 Lakh($38,000) and the major portion of the billing was paid through donations collected locally in Hyderabad. The family is very poor and does not have funds in hand to take care of the post-surgery treatment plan. She is under follow-up with Dr.Mohammed Abdun Nayeem at Care Hospital, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. Her immunization levels need to be monitored at timely intervals in the post-transplant period. The estimated cost per month for follow-up is Rs20,000 and needs for 12 months at least. She is in need of Rs2.4 Lakhs equal to $3000 only. The family is not in a position to afford the cost her father works at a PAN shop and his earnings are just enough to feed the family. The family is eligible to receive Zakat and Sadaqah.
